Future blogger right here. Hadley loves to sit at my desk, pretending to do work on the laptop.
Got Hadley an organizer for all her paper things in her room. She's got coloring books, stickers, and random pads of paper (just like her Mama) everywhere. Kevin put this together so they are not all over the floor anymore. Purchased from Amazon.
Saturday we went to our cousins graduation party, it was so much fun. The kids all have a blast together, and it was great seeing family outside of the lake setting.
We left the party for Natalie's volleyball game. She is such an awesome player (#22 in the back), such a huge difference just from last year! And they won two out of three games!
After the game we went back to the party since it was super close and hung out for a little while longer. It was a super late night for the kids, but we all had a blast.
around here I made a delicious dinner. White garlic chicken on Naan bread, cheesy/bacon potatoes, and asparagus. So so good.
around here got to check out the Grand Opening of the new Kroger On The Rhine. It was awesome.
around here it was so awesome I was the 100th customer and I won $100 gift card to Kroger!
around here George has never laid like this before, for like 10 minutes straight. Must've been comfy.
around here my 2020 planner plus accessories arrived!!!
around here came down with a sore throat and wasn't feeling the greatest. Hadley was going through her Kindergarten book and watching TV, patiently waiting for Daddy to come home. She's such a good kid.
Thank God It's Friday.
Up for the weekend is volleyball games for Natalie, and a graduation party. It'll be fun to catch up with family and friends this weekend. Just wish it would be a little cooler than 90 something degrees out! Oh well. We'll take the sunshine and warmth while it's still here right? This is good car washin weather.
Do you ever wonder what products people use in the shower? I'm intrigued in trying all kinds of products for the shower. The FabFitFun box has got me obsessed with using products to help my skin and body. Here is the view of what's in our shower. Not too exciting, but lots of fun items!
The top shelf is just your basic shampoo and conditioner. I'm not really picky on this, usually just buy what's on sale. Sometimes I tend to go for products that are for highlighted / color treated hair to help with that part. My hubby doesn't use a separate shampoo, he could care less so that makes it easy and cheaper.
Products shown above are:
Bath n Body Works Stress Relief Shower Gel. This smells amazing and immediately calms me down and relaxes me.
The small pink tube in front is from one of my favorite products, Whish. They sent me a sample size of the bath & body gel.
Products shown above are:
Small round container is Champagne Body Scrubthis is amazing, but have only used it once for two reasons. One, I like to use it when nobody is home so I can take my time and relax. And two, it's super messy in the shower since it's basically black body scrub. But, my skin feels amazing afterwards.
This is the first year I get to decorate for the fall season at our new house! Some of the decorations I've had from over the years, and some are newer. I don't have nearly as much as I'd like to have, but what we have will do for now.
First up is the front porch. Right now all I have is a little pumpkin sign hanging from the front door. It's still too hot to buy mums, so when it starts to cool down I'll have some colorful mums on the front porch. I'll come back and update this post with all the porch decorations. The "Happy Fall Ya'll" garden flag is one that I made myself a few years ago. It's burlap sewed together, I painted the saying on with regular acrylic paint, and hot glued some fake fall leaves on the bottom corner.
When you step inside the front door, our half bathroom is down the hallway. These are the shelves in the bathroom, I just stuck some festive pieces in with what was already on the shelves. I think it gives it a nice little fall touch.
On top of the toilet, I have this farmers market tin basket. I put an orange Halloween tin inside the big tin, along with the best bathroom spray ever. If you haven't tried the "poop before you go spray", it's the best. The kids love it too! We are currently using the citrus scent, you can purchase it here.
The bar cart is looking a little empty, but for now I put the "Hello Fall" banner up on the wall, and the pumpkin basket on the cart itself. I have plans to add more here, just haven't gotten to it all yet.
The kitchen table has a black/orange table cloth for Halloween, a Hello Fall pumpkin, and my favorite aqua mason jar. I'll leave this table cloth on until Halloween, and then will use a Fall tablecloth until Christmas time. The spider web place mats I believe were purchased from Target a few years back. Need to add some Halloween napkins to go with the theme.
In our glass see through kitchen cabinet, I put a little pumpkin guy on the second shelf. The glare is bad so I took one with the door open so you could see it more clearly.
The fireplace is always my favorite place to decorate. I've been going the more simple route lately and I love the way it ends up. Originally, I wanted to fill the mantle with different sized pumpkins but am going to save that for the Thanksgiving table decor. The small frames with the Fall sayings are from Target's dollar spot, the pumpkins in the middle I've had for years, along with the felt leaf banner. Inside the wicker basket on top of the crate, are 3 fake rats. Ever since the kids were little, they love playing pranks on people with the fake rats. We are down to only 3 rats, need to add some more to the collection haha.
And that wraps up the Fall Home tour this year. I love how it all turned out. Hope you enjoyed the photos!
around here started a new dance class and she loves it!
around here a clean room makes Mama happy.
around here organized Hadley's markers.
around here our big watchdog.
TGIF! First week back after vacation went super slow, but also super fast. Mondays and Fridays seem to just fly by for me which I'm not complaining. I'm so glad it's the friggin weekend. This weather we've had has been absolutely wonderful. Sunshine, and more sunshine. Hard to believe the first day of Fall is Monday with all this warm weather. I do not want to rush summer outta here, please stay as long as you are able to. We love the sun and being outside. Dreading putting on winter coats, and snow, and blah weather. Nothing planned this weekend. The big kids come back, and Hadley is stoked! She loves her Bubby and Sissy!
My husband wanted to go to Florida to celebrate him turning 40 next month. We decided to go in September while it's still warm at least. October can sometimes be a semi-warm month, but didn't want to chance it. We went with my brother-in-law and sister-in-law. Had a blast!
On the plane, somehow we all managed to sit in the same row! What are the odds when you don't plan it that way?!? We all ordered a beverage to cheers to our trip together. We were so excited.
Ahhhh we have arrived to our happy place! Ocean, beach, favorite vacation cup, and my love!
First day at the beach! Kevin and I travel so well together, we have it down to a science. We always manage to make it to the beach an hour or two after we land. We had a late dinner right on the beach, and watched the sunset. So many people on the pier to watch it too. We asked someone to take our picture as we headed back home.
The next day, nothing to do but get up and apply more sunscreen, and listen to the ocean air. Perfect.
After the beach, sometimes we would go to the pool. Then the hot tub. Then the pool. And repeat.
This was the only night it rained, but stopped right before our dinner came so we got to enjoy the peacefulness of sitting by the water to eat dinner. Thanks to my BIL, we tried some things we never would've tried before. Crab dip was delicious. And oysters, not so much but glad I tried them finally.
The seagulls and pelicans were having a field day. They were dive bombing for fish left and right. It was a crack up to see, the pelicans would literally dive bomb 2 feet away from us. Was fun to watch.
Kevin sporting the shirt I got him for his early bday gift.
Our sad flight home, we never want to leave! Brian in the background super happy to go home haha
Home to my sweet Hadley. We sure did miss her, but it was great to get away for a few days.
We had the best time, and we were so glad the BIL/SIL were able to join us. Can't wait to do it again!
