the quickie.

My happy place :  the beach.

One thing everyone should do in their 30's :  end toxic relationships.  we need people that bring us sunshine in life, not bring us down.

My weirdest quirk :  for dinner, I eat all the sides before the main dish.

Something I used to worry about but don't anymore :  death.

What really works my last nerve :  fake people.  just be real!

Current MCM :  Bradley Cooper.

Current WCW :  Lady Gaga.

I have a weakness for :  white cheese.

I can't resist someone who :  is loyal.

Something people get wrong about me :  super shy still.  might not come across as shy at times, but I am.

My best trait :  to make people laugh.

My worst trait :  procrastination.

My life mantra :  you cannot control everything that happens, you can control your attitude toward what happens.  And in that, you will be mastering change rather than allowing it to master you.

k&m / february.

A new year of K&M monthly posts!  Yay!  Here is what we've been up to this month...

February is the blah month.

Nothing really fun happens except Valentines Day.

Kevin sent me flowers at work!

Watched the boring Superbowl together.

We went to the Auto Expo to dream about new cars.

He wants a jeep or a truck.

She wants an Acadia.

It's nice to dream, but we are keeping our cars until they die.

He volunteered at Hadleys school, showed the kids all his fire gear.

Hadley was so excited.

Chandlers for dinner is becoming a routine for Friday nights.

Which will soon change.

He's been updating the house with stuff she can't do very well.

Like hanging things on the wall, measuring so they are perfectly even.

She just buys the cute stuff for him to put up.

So lucky we both like the same stuff for home decor.

Loving our new home!

hadley / february.

I will be documenting Hadley this year by giving monthly updates on what she is up to!
This is what Hadley has been up to in February 2019.

DRINKING:  Capri-Sun Blue Raspberry.

39 favorite feelings.

It's birthday week around here and I've thought of a few fun different posts to celebrate!  These are 39 of my favorite feelings from the past year.  Many have happened over and over, and some maybe just once or twice.  All are very special.  When I look back at my 30s, I hope to remember all of this in a bright light.

when Hadley says "berry" instead of "very."

at night, when the house is quiet and I know I have at least two hours to catch up on TV.

39 favorite moments.

Happy Birthday week!  This Sunday I turn 40!  Eeeek!  I thought it would be fun to share 39 of my favorite moments from the past year, as my last year of my thirties.  So here we go...
Introduced Hadley to getting her nails done at the salon.  She loves getting her nails and toes done at home by her Daddy.
Self explanatory, but it was the best!
When all four kiddos are together, I love watching them have a blast together.
When Kevin and I were on a smoothie kick, I pre-made them in little baggies marked K&M.
When Kevin falls asleep, at least one part of his body is always on me.
As Kevin would pick up stuff for the fire department, he would text me photos and it was the cutest.
Kevin digging up the kitchen flooring for our kitchen remodel of 2018.
For Easter last year, my Mom had a theme for the girls to make a bonnet.  Aunt Chris went over the top with hers!
If we can go, we try and take George to the Opening Day Parade each year.
Tried to complete the The 100 Day Project, which I did manage to start a few of the days but didn't get anywhere compared to my Mom!  She did the entire project, 100 days of sewing for baby dolls.  It was adorable.
Going out for our family birthday dinners with Hadley and her cousin, is never a dull moment.  They have so much fun together.
At our first house, we would find baby bird eggs almost every year.  We would watch them grow, and Hadley loved watching the Mama Bird feed her babies.
Going to Target with this little Miss always consists of getting an Icee, while I get a chai tea.  The best part was we figured out they have cup holders for the carts!
Having my very own office at work is the best thing ever.
15/39.  At the age of 39 is when I got my first mammogram.  And rest assured, will do it every year.
Hadley is a crazy sleeper just like her brother Brady.
I want to remember her love for dresses, and how she went through spurts in preschool of wanting to wear dresses to school.  This particular day was picture day, and then we ate dinner on the back deck still in her dress.
When we decided to dig up our front yard, and lay down fresh grass.  Not sure how much help it did, but it was a process.
Our magnolia tree at our old house was awesome.  It smelled so amazing.
My favorite thing to decorate is this little shelving unit I got from Walmart.  It's fun to change out decor for each season.
Hadley's first Father/Daughter dance at preschool!
Family orientation day at the firehouse.  The smile on Kevin's face says it all.  He has found his dream job.
My most favorite photo of recruit school, Kevin at the bottom of the ladder waiting his turn to go up.
My first milkshakes with Mom at Hadley's preschool.
The year when I made up my mind about planting flowers, and it was awesome.
Our first Reds game of the year, the kids were super excited.  Let's be honest, they just love all the junk food at the games!
George's first visit to the vet, after we've had him for 6 years.  Wasn't a fun visit, they had to muzzle him to draw blood from his paw.  It took 3 nurses and the vet, let's just say he's not a fan of the vet.
The summer when our cousin Becca took Hadley down the big hill tubing at the lake!  She was a little scared, but excited to tell everyone she did it.

My Dad isn't a huge fan of taking pictures, so when he takes one, I cherish it!
Once our pool was fixed, we enjoyed many many days and nights swimming.
When we remodeled our kitchen at the old house, it was so much work, but so worth it.
The excited face of going to her very first swim lesson.
Visiting my friend Kristin at her lake house in Cumberland!
Finally celebrating my college graduation with a pool party, and a battle wound to never forget it.
The day my husband graduated as a fire fighter.  His dream job!
Putting our first house together on the market.  It sold in 12 days.
Hadley had her first friend party for her 4th birthday.  The Little Mermaid theme.
Meeting my new nephew Ari.
Buying our first house together after marriage, and loving every square inch of the bigger space.

There you have it, 39 of my most favorite moments from this last year of my thirties!  So many happy memorable moments I never want to forget.

Happy Monday folks, have a great week!

around here.

around here my Valentines Day flowers are still kicking a week later!
around here Brady finally finished him room from when we moved in almost 3 months ago!

T.G.I.F. finally!  From being off on Monday for Presidents Day, this week has seemed to go by at a snails pace.  Random piece of information, today is National Margarita Day, maybe we'll go to our favorite Mexican restaurant and have a margarita.  Yum.  Another random piece of information, tomorrow (Saturday) was the day Kevin proposed, 6 years ago!  So crazy to think I'm married, I never thought I would get married, honestly never wanted to until I met Kev. ♥  So anyways, we have zero plans this weekend which I love!  We are getting the house together, it's coming along.  My problem is I want the entire house to be decorated and painted right now, but I need to be more realistic and take it slowly.  I'd love to share house updates here when I get the rooms all pretty and picture worthy.

Next week is my birthday week!  I have some fun posts planned too. I feel like I've been away from this space for awhile, life just gets busy ya know?  I go through phases for sure, but it always feels good to blog about life in general.

Have a great weekend everyone!

presidents day.

Presidents Day is an American holiday that is celebrated on the third Monday in February.  After reading more about this holiday, it was an attempt to create more three-day weekends for the nation's workers.  Presidents Day is now viewed as a day to celebrate all U.S. Presidents, past and present.

Hadley learned in school this week, that Abraham Lincoln was the first president with a beard!  They made cute little top hat sticks of Lincoln.

For those of you off work today, enjoy your day!  For those of you at work, have fun! Hah!

around here Kevin went to Hadley's school for career day.  All the kids loved trying on all his gear!  Hadley even wore her fire department shirt.
around here Kevin sent me flowers at work for Valentines Day!  So sweet!
around here she was so excited for her Valentines Day party at school.  She wore the shirt Grandma Gail made, and wanted a photo at school in front of her box and goodies.
around here what I got Kev for love day, we are going to do that face mask together!  Should be fun.
around here playing with slime before bed.

TGIF!  Cheers to Friday and the weekend! The sun is shining and the weather looks to be pretty okay for the weekend.  Not frigid temperatures at least from what my app says.  Looking forward to getting more things done around the house, and maybe go out and do something!

Have a great weekend!
