winter 2018 / i want to remember.

Today officially marks the start of spring!

I am ready for spring.  Ready for a change.  Always look forward to wearing flip flops, sunglasses, hair in a pony, shorts, and workout capris!  Waking up and going for an early walk/run.  Decorating our house with spring / summer like things, and getting the pool ready!

As we wait for spring to arrive, I want to take a look back at winter twenty eighteen which was December 21 through March 19.
And so, from winter 2018...

I want to remember that I rocked that little elf on the shelf guy.

I want to remember the excitement on Hadleys face trying to find the elf each morning.

I want to remember all the holiday school parties Hadley had.

I want to remember all the goodies I made.

I want to remember that hanging our Christmas cards along the window sill is the best spot for them.

I want to remember going to see Santa with all three kiddos by myself.

I want to remember the night before Christmas, the kids laying out reindeer food and cookies for Santa and his crew.

I want to remember our Christmas Bucket List and how much I want to keep that tradition going no matter how old the kids get.

I want to remember seeing the movie Ferdinand with Natalie in the theater.  Just her and I.

I want to remember how much I love our Christmas tree.

I want to remember our Christmas morning breakfast.

I want to remember the expression on Hadleys face every time she opened a present.

I want to remember spending Christmas morning with Aunt Cindy.

I want to remember making a random stop at Uncle Butchs house Christmas Day.

I want to remember how much fun Kevin's cousins are.

I want to remember George turned 6 years old.

I want to remember Christmas at the lake and the gigantic doggie blanket Hadley is obsessed with.

I want to remember our New Year's Eve and Kevin snoring on the couch at 11:59pm.

I want to remember spending our New Year's Day day drinking like it was our NYE.

I want to remember that makes us old.

I want to remember the long walk from the parking garage to work every morning in the bitter cold.

I want to remember how much Hadley still loves to paint.

I want to remember Oma and all the people she loved so much.  Special lady that one.

I want to remember going to Lake Nina for dinner just for Oma.

I want to remember how much she loved liver at that place.

I want to remember Hadley loves to wash her hands in the big sink in the kitchen just so she can pull the bar chair over and play in the water.

I want to remember being so excited to decorate my own office at work.

I want to remember Kevin making the best smoothies.

I want to remember making different snacks for the kids like frozen yogurt bites.

I want to remember how much Kevin worked tons of hours to support our family.

I want to remember going to the boat show and dreaming.

I want to remember how good Hadley is at putting her shoes and clothes away.

I want to remember Kevin receiving the best news of his life.

I want to remember entering Kevin in the annual chili cook-off.

I want to remember when Hadley didn't get her way, she would cry for Daddy or Brady.

I want to remember Natalie playing with Hadley on the weekends.

I want to remember Hadley loving popsicles even if it is below freezing outside.

I want to remember the nightly facetime calls with Grandad after showers.

I want to remember coloring and drawing with Hadley all the time.

I want to remember how excited Hadley gets on Fridays when her brother and sister are coming home.

I want to remember Hadley getting the flu.

I want to remember how I caught the flu twice.

I want to remember re-vamping our kitchen.

I want to remember how much Kevin loved my ideas.

I want to remember our dinners together just Hadley and I while Kevin worked.

I want to remember trying to make Chipotle chicken and failing.

I want to remember trying to make Bang Bang Shrimp and failing.

I want to remember at least trying to branch out with new recipes, even if some of them did fail.

I want to remember the hamburger pasta was a success.

I want to remember watching the UC Bearcats basketball game in a Suite with my Dad, brother, and Kevin.

I want to remember my cousin Becca passing her OT test!

I want to remember Hadleys first professional manicure.

I want to remember going to Disney on Ice and getting all dolled up Minnie Mouse style.
