i graduated!

This past Saturday I attended my college graduation ceremony! It was such an exciting time, and I was so beyond happy to be there.  I'm so proud of myself for all the hard work I've achieved throughout my time of going to college. It took about five and a half years, and through it all I got married, and had a kid.  I remember being up in the middle of the night multiple times when Hadley was first born, trying to finish homework, it was rough. But, I made it through and couldn't be happier!
The graduates had to be there an hour before the ceremony. And luckily their was no practice, because I was afraid I missed it! Since it was in December, not many attend I guess? I don't know haha What I thought was weird but I guess normal, they give you a card with your name on it and you hand it to the person pronouncing your name on stage.
When it was time to line up and go up on stage, I was so excited! I kept thinking to myself, "I really did this!"  I  finally earned a degree, and what a great achievement to show my daughter Hadley that you can do anything in life if you put your mind to it. I didn't get the college degree right out of high school because that wasn't the right time in my life.  I was not mentally ready to do the work. Now that I've done it, I am so glad school is over! I received my Bachelors in Science / Organizational Leadership. Maybe I'll go on to get the Masters one of these days, but not anytime soon.
Family picture! Thank you guys for coming and showing your support. It meant so much to me to have you all there (and Casey taking the picture) cheering me on!
My parents had a cute little cake and flowers.
My very sweet friend Kristin sent these flowers from which was a nice surprise to come home to after graduation!
I took more photos, but the computer was freezing up so I will add them later but my sister-in-law made a mason jar gift that was so darn cute! The top was the cap, and the yellow tassel was made out of ribbon string, and inside was my favorite mini bottle of rum with a gift card. Such a sweet and thoughtful gift!
This graduation ceremony was the 100th commencement! They gave us this chain to commemorate the occasion, which was pretty cool to be a part of.
It feels amazing to have finished, and I have my degree and fancy frame (thanks Kev) hanging up in my office.

My advice to those of you debating on getting a degree...just do it.  If you have the opportunity, seriously just do it. After the time and hours put into it, it goes so fast and you're done! Some people think that it's just a piece of paper and it doesn't help you in life. I don't agree with that, I think it does help you and get your foot in the door where some people without a degree wouldn't have had the chance to. So just do it! Better yourself people! It's totally worth it!
