Welcome to our 2017 Christmas bucket list!
The materials I used for the list was the kraft paper roll like this from Amazon that I already had, colored pencils to draw each picture, and a black sharpie to outline and write in the bucket list item. Super simple, and it looks fantastic!
Now that the big kids are getting older, I wasn't sure how they would react to this. So this year, I decided to take a simple approach. Instead of making a big deal about it, I didn't say anything. Natalie noticed it hanging on the wall and asked, "what's this?" I told her it was our family bucket list for the Christmas season this year. Her reaction was, "Wow this looks fun. Can we start it now?" Absolutely! The first thing she asked was if we had Christmas lights for the bedrooms yet. Sure do!
Natalie was the most excited! For each kid to get the lights put up in their rooms, they had to clean it first. Let's just say I've never seen them so eager to clean rooms before! Natalie was done first, so we did her room first. Just the look on her blurry pictured face above just shows you how excited they all were. She wanted her lights near her bed to be used as a night light.
Next was Hadley who cleaned her room as good as a three year old can! She wanted her lights by her bed just like her big sister. She was bouncing off the walls excited.
And last but not least, the oldest Brady! He took a little longer to clean his room haha but once he was done, he was just as excited as the other two even for a teenager! He chose to have his lights put up on the wall opposite his bed. And all we did was use thumb tacks and pushed them in the walls. Yes they are going to leave holes, but I don't care!
Even checking one thing off the list was a big deal. I was so happy to see their reactions! All three of them were super excited, they must've went up and down the stairs a bazillion times talking about it. Can't wait to do more off the list!
